LATE ON THE BANDWAGON,
But I finally started/finished reading TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE.
I ate every word.
From this, I drew:
"Don’t cling to things, because everything is impermanent." (p.103)
"…if you’re trying to show off for people at the top, forget it. They will look down on you anyhow. And if you’re trying to show off for people at the bottom, forget it. They will only envy you. Status will get you nowhere. Only an open heart will allow you to float equally between everyone." (p.127)
"The culture we have does not make people feel good about themselves. And you have to be strong enough to say if the culture doesn’t work, don’t buy it." (p.42)
I was still hungry. So then I read,
And from this, I drew:
"You have peace when you make it with yourself." (p. 113)
"Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, you’re not really losing it. You’re just passing it on to someone else." (p. 94)
"Holding anger is a poison. It eats you from inside. We think that hating is a weapon that attacks the person who harmed us. But hatred is a curved blade. And the harm we do, we do to ourselves. (p. 141)
I cannot say I am a better person because of Mitch Albom.
But ever am I inspired to be.
read me to sleep.
paint my nails like this for the wedding. yes i think so.
ideas for the backyard.
we have a closet of this size. i was thinking arts and crafts room.
for my 19th birthday, the boy i was dating made me 19 spare keys to my car, because i’m constantly locking my keys inside the car. i dispersed those 19 keys to 19 random people that i could call if i did happen to lock my keys inside my car again. one of those keys should go inside this frame. GENIUS.
GENIUS. random fruit of the day. now if only i can fit mangos and grape fruits in there.
an idea for our drapes.
the feeling of our living room. BLUE.
inviting. calm. peaceful. how i want all guests to feel when they come inside our home.
what we should update every day, as husband + wife.
LOVE the idea of these frames above the bay windows, especially since we have two windows like this. esp if they were frames of my photographs from around the world.
another prime example of the BLUE in our living room and the feeling it creates.
i LOVE this idea. we are such avid movie watchers, and we have such a tree in our yard, and i’ve already talked about the idea of strewing christmas lights and lanterns in our trees, and we did receive the best popcorn collection + maker for our bridal shower. all together equals PERFECT.
i have been hunting down a map for ages. one that is big enough to engulf me. i found such a map at IKEA, but have yet to convince steve to let me purchase it. and i would pin thumbtacks of all the places i have been, and different colored thumbtacks of all the places i will go. we will go.
